How Verdis collects, uses and protects your personal data
When you use Verdis, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
We use your personal data for the following purposes, each based on a lawful legal basis under GDPR:
We will never use your data for automated decision-making that produces significant legal effects without human oversight.
Verdis uses a small number of trusted third-party services. Each has their own privacy policy and data processing agreements in place with us:
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.
Verdis uses the following types of cookies:
As configured today, Verdis sets only strictly-necessary storage (your login session) and functional preferences, and our analytics sets no cookies at all — no consent banner is required for any of these, so we don't show one. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent before setting them and update this notice first.
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data under applicable data-protection law (such as the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR). These are not just formalities — we take them seriously:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jordan@verdis.io or use the form on our Contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data-protection regulator, if you believe we have handled your data incorrectly — at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. See section 9 below for how to complain to us first.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, plus the following periods after deletion:
Verdis accounts are for adults (18+). We don't offer child logins: lessons for under-18s are arranged and managed through a parent or guardian's account, so a child never messages a coach directly and there are no unmonitored coach-to-child conversations. If you believe a child has created an account or provided us data, contact us at jordan@verdis.io and we'll remove it promptly.
Any safeguarding concern can be reported from the conversation (the Report button) or by emailing us — we review safeguarding reports quickly.

The rules for using Verdis — written in plain English where possible
Verdis is operated by TEEUP GOLF & LEISURE LTD, trading as Verdis — a company registered in Northern Ireland, company no. NI741645, registered office 192a Upper Malone Road, Belfast BT17 9JZ ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using Verdis, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Verdis is a marketplace that connects golfers ("students") with golf coaches ("coaches"). We are not a golf coaching service ourselves — we provide the technology platform that facilitates the connection, and the lesson contract is between you and your coach.
You may register as a golfer, a coach, or both. Each account type has different features and responsibilities as described below.
Booking on Verdis works by request and confirmation. When a golfer requests a time and the coach confirms it, a binding agreement is formed directly between the golfer and the coach. Verdis is not a party to that agreement and takes no payment for it.
Verdis does not currently process payments. You pay your coach directly, and the price you see is the price you pay.
Because no payment is taken through Verdis, there is nothing for Verdis to refund — cancellation is about respecting your coach's time.
When online payment launches, a clear cancellation and refund policy for prepaid bookings will be published here first.
By joining Verdis as a coach, you agree to the following:
By booking through Verdis as a golfer, you agree to:
This section covers anything you write that other people can see: reviews, posts on a coach profile, and messages.
You keep what you write. You own your own words. By posting them on Verdis you give us permission to show them on the platform — that is all we use them for. We do not sell them or licence them to anyone else.
What is not allowed. Do not post anything that is untrue about a real person, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, someone else's private information, or someone else's work passed off as yours. Do not post a review of a lesson you did not have, and do not ask anyone else to.
What we will remove. We remove content that is unlawful, false, abusive, or has nothing to do with the lesson it claims to describe. We also remove anything a court or the police tell us to.
What we will not remove. We will not take down a review because it is negative, because it is inconvenient, or because the coach has asked us to. A critical but honest account of a real lesson stays up. Coaches get a public right of reply instead, and it is limited to one reply per review so that the exchange does not become an argument. A coach cannot edit or delete a review, and neither can they pay us to.
How to report something. Every review, post and conversation has a Report control. Tell us which one and what is wrong with it — if you are saying it states something false, tell us specifically what is false, because that is the part we have to assess. Reports reach a real person. We aim to decide within 72 hours, and faster where the content is clearly unlawful or a safeguarding concern. We will tell you what we decided.
If we remove something you wrote. You will be able to see that it was removed, and you can reply to us to contest it.
The review policy sets out how reviews work in full.
Verdis is a technology platform. We are not responsible for the quality, safety or outcome of any golf lesson delivered by a coach listed on our platform.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.
If a dispute arises between a golfer and a coach, we encourage you to resolve it directly via Verdis messages. If that fails:
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we make significant changes:
For questions about these terms, contact us at jordan@verdis.io or use our contact form.
We're a small team and we genuinely read every message. Tell us what you need and we'll reply as quickly as we can.
Unhappy with how we've handled your personal data? Email jordan@verdis.io with "Data protection complaint" in the subject — we acknowledge complaints within 30 days, investigate, and tell you the outcome. You also have the right to complain to the ICO, the UK's data-protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Plenty of questions are already answered there — it may be quicker than waiting on us.

Who can leave a review, what we remove, and what we will not remove
You can review a coach if all of the following are true:
That is the only route in. There is no way to review a coach you have not been taught by, no way to review from a link, and no way for a coach to add a review on someone's behalf. This is enforced by the platform itself, not by us checking afterwards.
You can review each lesson once. If you have ten lessons with the same coach you can leave ten reviews — one per lesson — because each one describes a different afternoon.
A rating out of five, what you wrote, the date, and your first name with your last initial. Your full name, email address and phone number are never shown.
A coach's average rating only appears once they have at least three reviews. Below that we show the individual reviews and no average — one review is not an average, and presenting it as one would flatter or damage a coach on almost no evidence.
You can change your review or take it down at any time, from the lesson in your account. An edited review is marked as edited.
A coach can reply once to each review, publicly, under the review. That is the whole of what a coach can do about a review.
A coach cannot edit a review, hide it, delete it, or ask us to do any of those things because it is unflattering. They cannot pay for a better rating, and there is no arrangement — paid or otherwise — that changes which reviews are shown or the order they appear in.
We remove a review if it:
We do not remove a review because it is negative. A critical but honest account of a real lesson stays up, however much the coach dislikes it, and however much we might prefer a tidier page.
This is not only a principle. Suppressing genuine negative reviews, or publishing invented positive ones, is unlawful under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. A platform that quietly deletes bad reviews on request is breaking the law, not doing its coaches a favour.
The distinction we apply is between an opinion and a statement of fact. "I did not think the lesson was worth the money" is an opinion and it stays. "He is not a qualified coach", when he is, is a statement of fact that is untrue, and that comes down.
Every review has a Report control. Anyone signed in can use it, and coaches can report reviews written about them.
Tell us which review and what is wrong with it. If you are telling us it states something false, say specifically what is false — that is the part we have to assess, and a report that only says "this is unfair" gives us nothing to act on.
Reports go to a real person, not a queue nobody reads. We aim to decide within 72 hours, and faster where the content is clearly unlawful or raises a safeguarding concern. We record what was reported, what we decided and when. We will tell you what we decided.
While we look at a report the review normally stays up, unless it is clearly unlawful or a safeguarding matter, in which case we take it down first and decide afterwards.
When a review is taken down we hide it, rather than erasing it. We keep the record of which account wrote it even after that account is deleted.
This is deliberate and it protects both sides. Under the law that applies in Northern Ireland, a coach who believes a review about them is untrue has the right to pursue the person who wrote it. If we destroyed that record, the only party left to pursue would be us — and a platform with that exposure ends up deleting reviews to protect itself, which is precisely what section 6 says we will not do.
We do not publish who wrote a removed review, and we do not hand identities over on request. It takes a court order.
Use the Report control on the review itself where you can — it tells us exactly which one you mean. Otherwise email jordan@verdis.io.

Finding a coach still means asking around, and diaries still live in text threads. We're fixing both.
Ask a golfer how they found their coach and you'll usually hear the same story: a name from the pro shop, a number passed on in a group chat, then days of phone tag to land on a time. Ask a coach how they manage bookings and you'll see the other half — a diary spread across texts, DMs and missed calls.
Verdis puts both on one page: a coach's qualifications, their prices in £, and a live diary you can request a time from. The coach confirms by message — usually the same day — and everyone gets their evenings back.
Golf coaching here has always run on word of mouth — great if you know the right pro shop, invisible if you don't. We want the coaches worth learning from to be findable by anyone.
And for the coaches themselves: tools that respect how they actually work. Their rates, their hours, their call on every booking — with the admin handled.
Every startup says this bit. Here's ours, written so you can hold us to it.
Whether you're a golfer after a better game or a coach who wants their evenings back — Verdis is open, and early is a good time to arrive.
Verdis adds nothing on top for golfers — and coaches join free while we're getting started. Here's the whole money story, in writing.
You pay one person: your coach, directly, once they've confirmed your lesson — cash, bank transfer or card, at the lesson. No service fee, no add-ons at checkout, no membership.
The only money that moves is the lesson price on your coach's profile — set by them, paid to them.
Joining and taking bookings costs nothing today. One plan is open while we launch; it doesn't have a printed price yet, because we won't publish a number we might change.
Your students stay yours — bookings you bring carry no fee, on this plan, ever.
Later A Free plan — your marketplace listing at £0/month, with a one-off introduction fee only on the first lesson with a golfer Verdis brings you — never on their repeat lessons, never on your own students — opens once golfers are searching in numbers. And a Pro plan — priority placement and analytics — arrives when the marketplace is busy enough for those to matter. Neither is sold today, and you'll see every rate in writing first.
The FAQ covers how booking and paying your coach works today.
Everything you need to know about Verdis — whether you're a golfer or a coach.
We're a small team and we read every message — tell us what you're trying to do and we'll help.
Find a coach, request a time that suits, and pay your coach directly once they confirm. Here's the whole thing — from both sides.
No phone calls, no back-and-forth — a real diary and a coach who answers.
Browse coaches by club, speciality and price. Every profile leads with qualifications and shows lesson prices in £ — no "DM for rates".
Their diary is live on the profile. Pick an hour that suits, add a note about what you want to work on, and send the request — there's nothing to pay yet.
Your coach confirms by message, usually the same day. You pay your coach directly at the lesson — Verdis adds nothing on top.
You request first. Money only changes hands once your coach has confirmed — and it goes to them directly, not through Verdis.
The hours you see are the hours your coach actually opened — real availability, not a form that goes to voicemail.
Every booking comes with a thread. Ask questions, share your goals, or rearrange — before and after the lesson.
There are no star ratings yet, because none would be real. When reviews launch, every one will come from a golfer who actually booked.
Coaches at clubs you know, with more joining as we grow.
Find a coach and request a time from the couch, the car or the clubhouse.
Browsing is free, and requesting a time costs nothing.
Stop managing bookings by text. Open your hours once — golfers request them, and you confirm the ones you want.
Qualifications, specialities, location and the £ rates you set. It's free to join, and our team reviews and approves your profile before it's listed.
Mark the hours you actually teach. Golfers can only request those — nothing lands in your diary unless you confirm it.
Each request arrives with the golfer's note, so you know what they want before you say yes. Confirm in a tap — the golfer pays you directly at the lesson.
Qualifications first, your prices in £, and a link you can put on a business card, a club noticeboard or an Instagram bio.
Open the hours you teach and close a day in two taps. Golfers request only what you've opened.
Every request carries the golfer's message. Confirm the ones that suit you, decline the ones that don't.
One thread per student, before and after lessons — no app-hopping, no lost numbers.
Price each lesson type yourself in £ and change it whenever you like. Nobody discounts you.
